achieve all goals by 2015.
Eradicate Hunger & Poverty + Universal Education
Paraguay's strongest agriculture product is soybeans. However, not everyone in this country can grow soybeans. However, if each community became the producer of different fruits, vegetables and meat there would be less of a need for a grocery store. Imagine if there was a farmer's market in each community that was accessible. There would be no need to spend money on buildings and artificial foods. Through the function of farmer's markets, the field of entrepreneurship would grow. Thus creating more academic opportunities for internships. The goal is that a great education can be received without traveling a thousand miles. Also, that an equal opportunity will be for both girls and boys. Learning centers would be ubiquitous, providing a stable environment and a stronger school district.
Gender Equality
Feminist organizations have grown in Paraguay over the past decade. This uprising and awareness about the importance of gender equality will continue to provide more opportunities. However, this isn't enough. There is a great need for ore women in power within the government making final decisions. The rational decisions - those that will help to improve our community. Often, there are many issues that are ignored because of the lens that men have in general. Paraguay will make equal pay and opportunity for women (and all) a law - this bill must be passed. These changes are only the beginning of Reform Paraguay 2013.
Child Mortality + Maternal Health + HIV/Aids & Preventable Diseases
All of these issues can be compiled into one subject matter because they are all issues of health. Paraguay needs better health care in general. Not just government provided care, but health care centers, hospitals and clinics. These should be in walking distance of each community - or at least accessible at minimum by public transportation. Local clinics should be available for awareness, medication and counseling. If clinics were available in each community, we could prevent one of the most common diseases that is preventable; Chagas disease.
Environmental Sustainability
The best way to tackle this millennium goal is to improve the living environment of those in poverty. Beyond that, seizing control of the current state of the government would make many of the existing problems go away. There is no President at this current moment. Everything is at a stand still. There needs to be stability in our environment and sustainability in whatever function is put in place. Working together is the best way to tackle the environmental problems. Building more windmills is not the solution to this problem. However, recycling and proper places for trash waste will be put in each community. This will help to avoid further damage to the environment. Proper disposal at minimum is necessary.
Global Partnership
Paraguay can barely control itself right now - but putting in a plan to join with the surrounding countries to improve agriculture and government structure seems attainable. This is not a primary concern, but scheduling meetings and conversing about how to improve our countries will lead to success across the world. We need to partner in order to become a strong force to be reckoned with.
